Description |
Chest with four drawers. Turned legs (abrupt endings; appear to have been cut off at bottom) with incised rings at top of leg. Post and frame construction (frame and panel). Unusually thick side panels with long bevel to fit into frame. On the outside of the panel the inner edge of frame is beveled. Cherry; secondary wood poplar. The chest and cupbard are not joined. Graduated drawers, all dovetailed and with scratch bead, all with locks (brass) and nicely-turned wooden pulls. Locks maybe a later addition. Five boards on back numbered 1-5 top to bottom, fitted tongue and groove. |
