Description |
Shakertown bucket factory, three horses (mules?) and unusual wagon (for logging?), at least six men and two women. One woman is in a Shaker bonnet. One man is sitting, with propped cane. He is Montgomery Rochester, Sr. Lumber lying about on the ground, like a sawmill. Cliffs in background could be Shaker Landing area. On back in ink script: "Bucket Factory, October 1891 (Mary H. Rochester's handwriting). Under that in pencil script: "Shakertown." This photo probably was taken by Montgomery H. Rochester. |
